Democrats won major contests in Tuesday’s elections. In New York City’s mayoral race, Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, won over former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Democratic Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill was elected New Jersey governor and Abigail Spanberger will be Virginia’s first female governor.
