History:
The US Inquirer was founded in 2007, published in 3 editions weekly, one on Tuesday, one on Thursday, and a weekend edition on Saturday. These papers were delivered to newspaper racks in various public places across Midwest City, Oklahoma and Tinker Air Force base, as well as a second-class direct mail subscription. In 2013, we expanded to deliver to some areas of the Oklahoma metropolitan area, also removing the pay-to-access locks on the newspaper machines due to declining readership, instead opting to rely on in-paper advertisements. In 2022, we expanded to an online format, available for access on us-inquirer.com and powered by Google advertisements.

Circulation:
The US Inquirer’s peak circulation was in May 2008, at 17,350 weekly distributed, including 8,700 delivery subscribers (with the rest consisting of weekly deliveries to paid newspaper bins).

Current circulation (as of December 2023) is 300 physical distributed weekly and 297 digital subscribers (total 597).

Community Involvement:
We continue to broaden our recruiting outreach by effectively establishing communication with recruiting resources in the broadcasting community, professional organizations, community based organizations and outreach through our corporate and local newspaper job opportunities. Examples of the efforts made by the paper in this employment unit include an ongoing internship program with regional colleges and high schools. Our department managers attend job fairs at local and regional colleges in an effort to recruit candidates with an interest in a broadcast related field. We have also had numerous local schools come to our station for tours, and our news staff has gone directly to schools to speak to them about careers in journalism.

In addition, our newspaper has participated in high school career workshops that introduce journalism careers to high school and middle school students, and is working on developing a program with local Oklahoma colleges to produce video news content for social media.
